4 Types of Dental Implants

The loss of a tooth (or teeth) can be devastating on an emotional and professional level. In addition to the more obvious issues of diminished confidence and bad physical appearance, missing teeth can also lead to difficulty with communication or chewing.

Dental Implants in Dubai are the most efficient method of replacing lost teeth because they act as a replacement for the roots of the missing teeth. We have the most experienced implantologist at Dynamic Clinic.

What Are Dental Implants?

Fixed prostheses called dental implants are used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Even though the operation is difficult and takes a while, it is worthwhile because it is painless and has a very high success rate. The only prerequisite for having an implant placed is healthy, dense enough bone, along with enough height to keep the implant screw intact.

4 Types of Dental Implants:

Endosteal Implants:

The most prevalent kind of Dental Implant is endosteal. The majority of patients can benefit from them, but they need a strong, healthy jawbone for the post to fuse to.

They are designed like screws and serve as stand-in posts. They insert into the jaw, which is where the fake teeth are attached.

After the surgery, the wound needs some time to heal. It needs time to come together and fortify itself. The fake teeth can be attached to the post to blend in with the neighboring teeth once it has healed.

If you object to having anything implanted into your jawbone, you could prefer the second-most common implant.

Subperiosteal Implants:

Subperiosteal Implants are yet another kind of Dental implant Clinic. The primary substitute for endosteal implants is this.

Subperiosteal implants lay on top of the jawbone but are still buried beneath the gums, as opposed to being fastened into the jawbone.

Under the gum, a metal frame with a post connected to it is positioned. Following that, the gum heals around the frame, holding it in place. The poles that protrude from the gum are used to hold the fake teeth in place.

This method is only done when the patient’s jawbone is insufficient for implant placement or when the patient just does not want to undergo extensive oral surgery to add bone to the region.

Single-Stage:

Because installing this implant often only necessitates one surgical procedure, it is known as a single-stage Dental Implant. The technique entails surgically inserting a lengthier implant into your jaw so that its top is level with the gum tissue and it is on the jaw bone. Once the implant is in place, the gum tissue sews and closes, exposing the implant head. After a few months of recovery, it is not necessary to perform any additional surgery in order to attach the dental implant abutment and interim restoration to the exposed head of the implant.

Two-Stage:

For this device to be installed, two surgeries are necessary. The implant is initially placed in the jaw bone, and the gum tissue is then stitched shut. A second procedure is performed a few months after the first one to expose the implant and install a temporary restoration and dental implant abutment.

Dental Implants’ Advantages:

There are advantages to Dental Implants. They could, however, potentially have drawbacks.

The Advantages of Dental Implants are as follows:

  • Enables appropriate chewing and speaking.
  • Enhancing your self-esteem by being created to resemble your actual teeth.
  • Offers independent support, which lessens the pressure on your natural teeth that are still present.
  • Maintains bone, decreasing the look of age, and helps stop jaw height decrease.
  • Simple to maintain and clean.
  • Implants can last between 15 and 25 years with adequate maintenance.

The following are the drawbacks of obtaining Dental Implants:

  • Not as white enabled as actual teeth; installation necessitates invasive surgery.
  • They are pricey (but the long-term benefits are usually worth it).
  • If there is not enough natural bone left after implantation, bone grafting may be required.
